EcoSelect

EcoFund offers a groundbreaking approach to carbon credit financing specifically tailored for indigenous communities and private land owners involved in forestry projects.

Our mission is to empower these landowners by providing non-dilutive carbon credit financing that ensures a more equitable distribution of revenues while safeguarding the environment.

EcoSelect is a selective log harvesting program using only a small portion of your land, generally 10%, to provide you with income from the log harvesting with which to pay for your carbon credit program. No loans and no giving up a big share of your carbon credits to pay for it. The 10 percent of the forest used for the selective harvest can be replanted and would be eligible for carbon credits in about 5 years.

Problem Addressed: Traditional carbon credit projects often result in minimal financial gains for indigenous communities, with developers/financiers retaining up to 70% of the revenue, hindering the socio-economic growth of these areas.

  • Innovative Solution: EcoFund offers a unique financing model that utilizes selective logging on the land to cover the costs of carbon credit development. By partnering with property owners and providing $500,000-$2,000,000 in project funding, this allows us to facilitate the development process while ensuring that 25-30% more revenue is generated from carbon credits compared to logging alone.
  • Benefits to Landowners: Our approach not only secures increased financial returns but also promotes land protection, job creation, economic development, social welfare initiatives, waste processing, and sustainable resource management.
  • Operational Model: We conduct a thorough land assessments, verify ownership, and obtain necessary permits before contracting with property owners for selective logging. This process covers the entire cost of carbon credit development while also compensating landowners during the development phase.
  • Financial Viability: Under the EcoSelect program, a cut of 40 trees per hectare with an average timber yield of $100 would generate $4 million on a 1000-hectare parcel. Returns may vary depending upon density of the forest, size and species of trees.
  • When do we get paid? Once we get started, timber shipments will go out every few days. Once each load of timber is shipped from the port, the royalties from those shipments are paid.
  • What can we use the money for? The money generated can be used to fund your carbon credit project or anything else the community or landowner wants.

F.A.Q

– Answer: Selective logging is a sustainable harvesting method where only specific trees are harvested, preserving the overall health and biodiversity of the forest.

– Answer: Our approach aims to minimize impact, focusing on carefully chosen trees, ensuring minimal disturbance to the forest’s ecosystem and maintaining its ecological balance.

– Answer: By participating, you can expect financial returns from timber sales and generated carbon credits. Additionally, your land will benefit from responsible land management practices.

– Answer: Contracts typically outline a specific period for logging operations and post-logging measures. Our terms ensure fair compensation and responsible land use practices.

– Answer: Our skilled team executes selective logging with precision, utilizing methods that minimize environmental impact while maximizing the yield of high-quality timber.

– Answer: EcoTrust complies with industry standards and possesses certifications ensuring responsible forestry practices, sustainability, and adherence to environmental regulations.

– Answer: We encourage your involvement and offer transparency throughout the process, facilitating site visits and providing updates on the logging activities.

– Answer: Carbon credits are generated by the forest’s ability to sequester carbon. Your participation contributes to this process, leading to additional revenue through carbon credit sales.

– Answer: Post-logging, we focus on forest regeneration, employing methods to restore the ecosystem and promote the forest’s long-term health.
